CALAIS, MAINE Starting today, Thursday, January 31, 2008 U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers began asking to see two pieces of identification if folks entering the United States by car did not have a passport. The latest news on construction of the new third bridge across the international St. Croix river was provided Thursday evening by both American and Canadian government officials. “The house looks great”, “The house looks wonderful” were just some of the comments from new and long-time guests upon arrival this month at Blair House Heritage Inn. In late June and early July local painter and steeplejack Les Caldwell spent two weeks scraping and painting the outside of our house.

I don’t remember the last time that school was cancelled in April due to a snow storm. But that’s what happened Thursday, April 5th. Here in southwestern New Brunswick the snow didn’t start falling until dawn but when it came it really came down heavily. Big heavy snow flakes. But mild.
