Blair House newly repainted

Filed under: General News, Blair House News — David @ 5:01 pm

“The house looks great”, “The house looks wonderful” were just some of the comments from new and long-time guests upon arrival this month at Blair House Heritage Inn. In late June and early July local painter and steeplejack Les Caldwell spent two weeks scraping and painting the outside of our house.

With such a tall house to paint Les used two of his five bucket (cherry-picker) trucks, instead of staging/scaffolding, to reach all the high spots. Les and Seveta did a great job. In 1870, the St. Courier newspaper described Blair House as “one of the handsomest houses in St. Stephen” - it still is today. Not bad for an old lady in her 148th year.

  1. We need Les to paint our lighthouse tower. Do you have his phone number?

  2. Hi Joyce,
Try calling Les Caldwell’s cell phone 467-8463 or call Carmen’s Diner, St. Stephen at about 8:00 am most mornings and ask to speak to Les.
I hope you’re having as good a season at Owen House Inn on Campobello Island as we are having here in St. Stephen. David.
