“The house looks great”, “The house looks wonderful” were just some of the comments from new and long-time guests upon arrival this month at Blair House Heritage Inn. In late June and early July local painter and steeplejack Les Caldwell spent two weeks scraping and painting the outside of our house.
With such a tall house to paint Les used two of his five bucket (cherry-picker) trucks, instead of staging/scaffolding, to reach all the high spots. Les and Seveta did a great job. In 1870, the St. Courier newspaper described Blair House as “one of the handsomest houses in St. Stephen” - it still is today. Not bad for an old lady in her 148th year.
